Boarding FAQ

  • We require that all dogs be current on DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella(Kennel Cough) or a completed titer test. Proof of vaccinations can be uploaded to your account on our free app, emailed to Howladayak@gmail.com or you can bring them with you when checking in.

  • YES! No matter their age, breed, or whether they're spayed or neutered. We celebrate every pup’s uniqueness and provide personalized care to ensure they feel safe, happy, and right at home. However, for the safety and comfort of all our guests, we’re unable to accept females in heat. Their presence can create stress and behavioral challenges among other dogs, especially unneutered males, making it harder to maintain a calm and safe environment for everyone.

  • At Howl A Day Inn, we pride ourselves on clear communication, exceptional cleanliness, and your dog’s comfort. During their stay, your pup will enjoy raised Kuranda beds, stainless steel food bowls (sanitized twice daily), and constant access to fresh, clean water.
We ask that you bring your dog’s food in pre-portioned bags to ensure consistency in their diet. We also recommend including a blanket or towel from home to provide comfort through familiar scents. Please note: while we do our best to return all personal items, they may occasionally be misplaced, damaged, or discarded if they become soiled beyond cleaning.

  • At Howl A Day Inn, we don’t require behavior or temperament testing for boarding. However, if a dog shows aggression toward our staff, they will be moved to one of our no-contact indoor/outdoor kennels. These special runs provide dogs with full-time access to both their indoor space and a secure outdoor area, eliminating the need for play yard turnouts while still allowing them freedom and comfort.

  • Each report card is sent after evening pick up/drop off to allow our staff to monitor and report how your pup is doing throughout the day. In the report card we always include how much they ate & drank, potty report, daily exercise, overall behavior, mood, and wellness. We also include any fun highlights for the day or important notes. Photos are shared when possible.

  • We’re proud to offer a 10% discount for military personnel, oil field workers, and clients booking long-term boarding. It's our way of showing appreciation while helping make quality pet care more accessible.

  • We try to accommodate special dietary and medical needs whenever possible. Simple medications and supplements that can be fed during meal time are no additional cost. In addition, special diet's such as cooked or raw meals must be preportioned and labeled for easy feeding. Administering medications of any kind are an additional daily fee. * We are unable to give injections at this time

  • We live onsite and have 24/7 monitoring, ensuring your dog is never truly alone. With someone always nearby and security cameras in place, your pup’s safety and well-being are constantly overseen—day and night—for total peace of mind.

  • To secure your pup’s reservation at Howl A Day Inn, we require a deposit at the time of booking. Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund. Deposits for cancellations made with less notice may be forfeited. This policy helps us ensure availability and plan the best care for all our guests.

  • No! Every dog enjoys their own private play yard. Friendly dogs can spend time in yards next to others, allowing them to see and socialize safely, while dogs who prefer space are given a fully private area for a comfortable and peaceful experience.

  • We currently have seven individual play yards designed to meet the needs of all dogs in our care. Of these, four are part of our communal area, where dogs can safely see one another, sniff noses, and socialize while remaining in their own separate yards.

Two of our yards are fully private, created specifically for dogs who prefer or require individual play without interaction. These spaces are typically reserved for our aggressive or reactive guests to ensure a calm and secure environment for everyone.

Our newest addition is a fully enclosed indoor play yard, which allows your pup to stretch their legs and burn off energy year-round—warm and snow-free in the winter, and cool and shaded in the summer.
